Under the direction of Professor Paul Ramirez Jonas, the printmaking department is being reimagined at Hunter College.

This developing area within Hunter's Department Art and Art Historywill study the histories of printmaking that emerge out of Latin American, political activism, protest movements, the African American experience, conceptual printmaking in New York City, Daumier, propaganda in the early twentieth century, the WPA, and last but not least the pyrotechnic contemporary uses of printmaking as exemplified by Robert Rauschenberg, Nancy Spero, Kiki Smith, William Kendtridge and Felix Gonzales Torres. 

All undergraduate classes are open to any Hunter student who has completed ARTLA 20100 “Art Foundations: Seeing, Thinking, Making.”
